The first time I went to Flexas I thought it didn’t look like a bar from here. It’s cad aesthetics, the coolness of its waiters and an informal but sophisticated menu brought me to the Madrid of the 80s or to Barcelona’s raval before it was swallowed by the mass tourism. Don’t misunderstand me, Palma has a variated night life offer, but maybe Fletxas is the only one that perfectly combines vintage decoration with brash and authenticity. Pepa Charro (aka Alcorcon’s Earthquake) and Xavi de las Heras had the brilliant idea of rescuing this bar located in Llotgeta street, keeping its original name and injecting it with the freshness of the old transvestite cabarets (universe where Pepa Charro comes from) and, at the same time, betting for the district Sa Gerreria which, together with Sta. Catalina, has become the hot spot of the insular capital, the Palma’s little Brooklyn. At Fletxas you can have dinner, have that first drink or chat with the flora and fauna of the best of the district. Into the bargain, you can find the most curious hybrids: orthodox hipsters talking with ladies in their dressing gown; cinema actors sharing beer with the taxi drivers that have just finished their journey, etc. Fletxas is democratic without trying and this spontaneity makes it exceptionally great. La primera vez que estuve en el Flexas pensé que no parecía un bar de aquí. Su estética canalla, la frescura de sus camareros y un menú informal pero a la vez sofisticado me remitían al Madrid de los 80 o la Barcelona del raval antes de ser engullida por el turismo de masas. No me malinterpreteis, Palma tiene una variada oferta nocturna pero tal vez el Flexas sea el único que conjugue con acierto estética vintage con desparpajo y autenticidad. Pepa Charro (aka La Terremoto de Alcorcón) y Xavi de las Heras tuvieron la brillante idea de rescatar un local ubicado en la calle Llotgeta, respetando su nombre original e insuflándole la frescura de los cabarets transformistas de antaño (universo del que viene Pepa Charro ) y a la vez apostar por un barrio, Sa Gerreria, que se ha convertido ,junto a Sta. Catalina, en el hot spot de la capital insular, en el pequeño brooklyn palmesano. En el Flexas puedes cenar, tomar la primera copa o conversar con la flora y fauna de lo mejor del barrio, además se producen híbridos curiosísimos: hipsters ortodoxos conversando con señoras en batín; actores de cine compartiendo caña con taxistas que han finalizado su jornada,etc .El Flexas es democrático sin proponérselo y esa espontaneidad lo hace grande.
